Maimunah is a currently a mother of two supportive teens. She enjoys traveling, dancing, and exploring new activities with family & friends.
Maimunah was born two months premature and unconscious due to IPV. And thanks to her early care team she lived. She was fortunate enough to later become a Head Start graduate. She was born into early Intervention and has worked in early intervention and early childhood her entire adult life. Her easy-going and humorous nature always makes learning fun for everyone. She draws from her lived experiences and what she's learned from the families she's served over the many years, to provide the informational and emotional support families deserve in some of our most isolating times in modern history. Strengthening the family/child bond early, positively impacts the whole health of the entire family. And if you've been searching for family support that you can relate to and trust, book a free 30-minute consult with Maimunah, today.
Tutu’s Storybooks was founded in 2013 in an effort to close the access gap to authentic African Diaspora representation in the early childhood classroom and also the broader community at large. Tutu’s Storybooks is a Black-owned and woman-owned business based out of Montgomery County, MD. Our Founder originates from Sierra Leone, West Africa. In 2018 we merged with Sahara Educare Services LLC to provide private family support services, teacher coaching, and infant and early childhood mental health consultation. And so Sahara Educare Services LLC w/Tutu’s Storybooks has been flourishing ever since. Together these product and service duo promote positive racial identity development in early education through early literacy and reflective & resilient families. Sahara Educare Services LLC w/ Tutu’s Storybooks has been proudly servicing the Washington, DC metro area, providing books, program-specific/individualized early literacy, and culturally-congruent support services in-home, virtually, as well as program settings.
