Tutu’s Storybooks was founded in 2013 in an effort to close the access gap to authentic Diaspora representation in the early childhood classroom and also the broader community at large. Tutu’s Storybooks is a Black-owned and woman-owned business based out of Montgomery County, MD. Our Founder originates from Sierra Leone, West Africa. In 2018 we merged with Sahara Educare Services LLC to provide consulting and teacher training services as well, and so Sahara Educare Services LLC w/Tutu’s Storybooks has been flourishing ever since. Sahara Educare Services LLC w/ Tutu’s Storybooks has been proudly servicing the Washington, DC metro area, providing books, program-specific/individualized early literacy, and culturally-congruent support services in-home as well as in group learning settings.
